Beautiful Sunday

Kang (Park Yong Woo) is a police detective who finds himself in a moral quandary. His wife is in a coma, and his hospital bills are starting to pile up. In his desperation, he rigs a drugs raid on a notorious gang to ensure that a rival narcotics mob ends up with the loot. For his part in this, the gang lets him take a share of the profits. This lets him pay his bills – but also leaves him wracked with guilt. The mobsters he deceived are determined to recoup their losses, however – leaving Kang in danger. He also meets Min Woo (Namgoong Min), a man who married a woman he met in a bookstore. But that same woman suffered a terrible fate – and suffered an ordeal at Min Woo’s own hands. As Min Woo tries to right past wrongs, he ends up unleashing yet more chaos. Kang starts to understand that his own fate is mixed up with that of Min Woo...and that he is haunted by the same demons of guilt. Can they reverse their wrongdoings – or is it already too late for both of them? “Beautiful Sunday” is a 2007 South Korean movie that was written and directed by Jin Kwang Gyo.
