Fantastic Girls

In the 1980s, Ayuko (Yuki Mio) struggles to fit in at her new high school in Okayama after moving from Tokyo, facing mockery and potential bullying. Takemi (Adachi Rika) befriends her, and the two become close as Ayuko shares her comic strips about an imaginary boyfriend. However, a bitter dispute over the comics eventually drives them apart. Thirty years later, Ayuko (Shirahane Yuri), now a celebrated manga artist, returns to her old school as a guest speaker and unexpectedly reunites with Takemi (Kei Aran), who is now a teacher at the same school. Their chance encounter raises questions about the possibility of rekindling their long-lost friendship. This is a 2015 Japanese movie directed by Akiko Ohku.
