And Then There was Light

On the small Japanese island of Mihama, Nobuyuki Kurokawa (Iura Arata) violently kills a man after mistakenly believing he is raping his girlfriend Mika (Hasegawa Kyoko). Tasuku (Nagayama Eita), a young neighbor, witnesses the gruesome incident. Hours later, a devastating tsunami ravages the island, seemingly washing away the evidence. Twenty-five years later, Nobuyuki is now a family man with a wife Namiko (Manami Hashimoto) and a five-year-old daughter, while Mika has become a famous actress under a new identity. Unbeknownst to them, Tasuku, who once idolized Nobuyuki, has survived and is determined to expose the truth about the long-ago murder. With a burning desire for justice, Tasuku prepares to unleash chaos into Mika and Nobuyuki's seemingly peaceful lives. This is a 2017 Japanese movie directed by Tatsushi Omori.
