
Synopsis
Mari (Kikuchi Akiko) leaves Tokyo for her small hometown in Shizuoka Prefecture, seeking a fresh start and hoping to revitalize the local economy. She opens a seaside shaved ice business and welcomes Hajime (Mine Azusa), her mother's friend's daughter, who is struggling after her grandmother's death and family conflicts. Despite Hajime's visible emotional and physical scars, Mari offers her a job at the shop. As they both seek healing and renewal, the two young women develop a growing friendship and support each other through their personal challenges. Their shared journey of recovery and hope unfolds against the backdrop of a quiet seaside town. This is a 2015 Japanese film adapted from Banana Yoshimoto's novel, directed by Toyoshima Keisuke.
