Chen Chong, or Joan Chen, as she’s also known, is an award-winning Chinese actress, award-winning film director, award-winning screenwriter, and film producer. She was born on April 26, 1961 in Shanghai, China and made her acting debut in 1975 and was dubbed, “the Elizabeth Taylor of China” by “Time” magazine, not long after. In 1995, she debuted her first film as a producer, in 1998 she debuted as both a screenwriter and director, and brought home numerous awards for her work that same year. Since then, she has continued to produce, write, and direct, as well as continuing to appear in numerous films and television dramas, including “Ruyi’s Royal Love in the Palace” (2018) and “Sheep Without a Shepherd” (2019).

Feng Xiao Gang is a Chinese actor and director who was born in 1958. He began working as an art designer for TV shows in the 1980s, but quickly transitioned into acting and screenwriting. He went on to become a renowned movie actor in the 1990s and more recently starred in movies such as “I Am Not Madame Bovary” (2016) and 2023’s “Hachiko.”

Congo Pax, real name Bai Ju Gang, is a Chinese singer, songwriter, actor, and TV star who was born on November 2, 1993, in Jiangyou, Sichuan Province, China. He studied at Sichuan Normal University and released his first studio album in 2015. He appeared in the 2021 drama series “Love Me Fearlessly” and, in 2023, he appeared in the film “Hachiko.”

Based on a true story that has been adapted multiple times since the 1920s, this is a 2023 Chinese movie directed by Xu Ang that celebrates the extraordinary relationship between humans and their faithful animal companions.
