Hokkaido high school seniors Hiro (Kie Kitano) and Shu (Masaki Okada) are newly dating, enjoying their blossoming young romance. However, a silent threat that could spell the end of their relationship looms over them: Hiro's plans for university are local, while Shu intends to apply to universities outside of Hokkaido. When Shu reveals his acceptance – and intent – to attend Waseda University in Tokyo, Hiro struggles with the prospect of a long-distance relationship, and begs Shu not to go.
