When 14-year-old Cheon Ji (Kim Hyang Gi) unexpectedly takes her own life, her widow mother Hyun Sook (Kim Hee Ae) and older sister Man Ji (Ko A Seong) are left in complete shock. Hyun Sook and Man Ji struggle to understand why Cheon Ji committed suicide, especially because Cheon Ji showed no outward signs of distress and didn't leave a note behind. However, as they uncover more information about Cheon Ji's life, they learn that she was frequently bullied at school, primarily by Hwa Yeon (Kim You Jung), a popular but cruel classmate. In desperation, Man Ji decides to investigate the situation on her own – even if she has to confront Hwa Yeon herself to demand answers. Will Hyun Sook and Man Ji find the closure they seek, even if the truth hurts? This film was based on Kim Ryeo Ryeong's 2009 novel "Elegant Lies."
