In the early 1500s, the tyrannical king Yeonsan (Kim Kang Woo) is consumed with lust and vengeance as he conducts a bloody purge. Yeonsan places his trust in his seemingly loyal subject Im Sung Jae (Ju Ji Hoon), ordering him to bring hundreds of women to the palace to serve as court ladies. The women are torn from their families with scant regard to their marital status or social class, igniting the fury of both the nobility and the common folk. But Sung Jae has his own dark motives. When he meets the beautiful Dan Hee (Lim Ji Yeon), a woman with her own secret reasons for wanting to infiltrate the palace, Sung Jae hatches a devious plot.
