In need of a change, Zhong Bu Fan (Peng Yu Chang) leaves his small town, intending to make his way to Beijing. Along the way, he stops in Wuhan, where he crosses paths with Ren Ji Qing (Jackie Chan) while searching for a job and a place to stay. However, Ji Qing has Alzheimer's disease, and he mistakes Bu Fan for his own son, whom he hadn't spoken to in many years. Following a doctor's advice to go along with the ruse to protect Ji Qing's health, Bu Fan steps into the role of "son," alongside Su Xiao Yue (Karlina Zhang) who poses as Ji Qing's daughter-in-law, and their neighbor. As Ji Qing's condition declines, the makeshift family members learn to rely on each other for support, creating a bond that goes deeper than they originally planned.
