If someone were to do a scientific study, there probably were a lot of over-exuberant celebrations of South Korea’s 2002 World Cup win. High school sweethearts Jang Gook (Lee So Yeon) and Yoo Joon Soo (Namgoong Min) were two of them. After their mischievous night, Gook gets pregnant and the two try to marry but ultimately are forced to break up due to strong opposition from both families. Gook ends up moving to the United States and changes her name to Jang Dal Rae. Joon Soo goes from being the son of a wealthy family to becoming the breadwinner for his family as they live paycheck-to-paycheck.
