Synopsis

Chicago Typewriter is a blockbuster Korean drama that tells the tale of three mysteriously connected people – an award-winning writer, a ghostwriter, and a devoted fan.   The celebrated author, Han Se Joo (Yoo Ah In), can’t seem to get his next book finished. After he suffers a traumatic event, he discovers a magical typewriter that transports him to his past life during the 1930s Japanese occupation of Korea.   Yoo Jin Oh (Go Kyung Pyo) is a talented ghostwriter with a unique style. He makes himself available to solve Han Se Ju’s troubling writer’s block, but there’s a cost to his services that makes this deal complicated in more ways than one.   The last of the trio is Jeon Seol (Im Soo Jung), a veterinarian and obsessive reader who becomes an anti-fan of Se Joo, whose writing she views as undeserving of such high praise.   Directed by Kim Cheol Kyu, Chicago Typewriter is a powerful story that recounts love, friendship, and betrayal spanning over 80 years. With each main character haunted by a heartbreaking history, how does this problematic past impact their present lives?
