Hot-Blooded Youth

In the tumultuous early years of the Republic of China, Shanghai is a city divided into foreign-controlled Concessions where crime runs rampant. Wu Qian (Huang Zi Tao) enters a dangerous competition to help his sick friend Wei Cheng Feng (Liu Yu Ning), which unexpectedly draws him into a bitter struggle between foreign powers and local police. He meets passionate freedom fighter He Hong Yi (Zhang Xue Ying), who inspires him to fight against the oppressive concession system. As they are drawn together by their shared ideals, the violent power struggles of the city threaten to tear them apart. Imprisoned and tortured by corrupt officials, Wu Qian must use his street smarts and martial arts skills to survive and reunite with He Hong Yi. This is a 2019 Chinese drama series produced by Li Li Ying and Bai Yi Cong that explores themes of resistance and survival in a chaotic historical period.
