Ruby Lin is the stage name of Lin Hsin Ru, a popular Taiwanese actress, producer and singer. Born on January 27, 1976, she began her career with a TV commercial and then started acting in small roles in television dramas. She became an overnight sensation with the breakout role of Xia Zi Wei in the 1998 hit television drama “My Fair Princess.” She has since starred in many other hit dramas, including “The Duke of Mount Deer” (2000), “Romance in the Rain” (2001), “Flying Daggers” (2003) and “Affair of Half a Lifetime” (2004). Ruby Lin established her own management company, Ruby Lin Studio, in 2009 and has since produced and/or starred in many more popular dramas, such as “Beauty’s Rival in Palace” (2010), “Three Kingdoms” (2010), “The Glamorous Imperial Concubine” (2011), “The Way We Were” (2014) and “My Dear Boy” (2017-2018). Born on March 12, 1976, she made her acting debut in the 1996 film “Penitentiary Angel” and then gained overnight fame for her role in the 1998 hit television drama “My Fair Princess.” The series made her the youngest actress in 1999 to win a Golden Eagle Award for Best Actress, the first of many acting awards during her celebrated career. Zhao Wei is primarily known for her film roles, including the hits “Shaolin Soccer” (2001), “Red Cliff” (2008-2009), “Painted Skin” (2008), “Painted Skin: The Resurrection” (2012), “Dearest” (2014)&nbsp;and “Lost in Hong Kong” (2015). She released her first album in 1999 and has put out a total of seven music albums. She also made her directorial debut with the 2013 film “So Young,” which went on to become one of the highest-grossing films in China and brought her several Best Director awards. Zhao Wei served on the main jury for the 73rd Venice International Film Festival and the 30th Tokyo International Film Festival. She married Chinese businessman Huang You Long in 2008.

Alec Su is a Taiwanese actor and singer who was born on September 11, 1973. He began his career in the 1980s, debuting as a member of the hit boyband Xiao Hu Dui. He later turned his hand to acting, appearing in the period drama series “My Fair Princess” (1997). He has since gone on to appear in the series “Romance in the Rain” (2001), as well as the TV reality show “Hidden Singer” (2016).

Fan Bing Bing is a Chinese actress who was born on September 16, 1981, in Qingdao, Shandong Province, China. She studied at the Shanghai Xie Jin Film and Television Art College, as well as the Shanghai Theater Academy. She made her debut in “Powerful Woman” in 1996, and followed up with a role in the hit 1998 drama series “My Fair Princess.” She has since gone on to appear in popular titles such as “A Battle of Wits” (2006) and “The Empress of China” (2014).

Zhou Jie is a Chinese actor who was born on August 5, 1970, in Xi’an, China. He studied at the Shanghai Theater Academy and made his debut in a 1992 biopic about the actress Runa Ling Yu. He made a name for himself in the 1998 drama series “My Fair Princess.” He has since followed up with performances in movies such as “The Dangerous Affair” (2015).

Zhang Tie Lin is a China-born British actor who was born on June 15, 1957, in Tangshan, China. He debuted as an actor in 1984, appearing in the movie “The Burning of the Imperial Palace.” He later traveled to the UK to study at the British Film Institute, graduating in 1990. He went on to become a British citizen in 1997. He played the role of the Emperor in the hit 1998 drama series “My Fair Princess,” and also appeared in the 2012 movie “The Southern Storm.”

In 18th-century China, the Qing Dynasty’s Emperor Qian Long rules the land. The Emperor is unaware that he has a 17-year-old daughter, named Xia Zi Wei (Ruby Lin), who was born after he had a brief fling with her mother.

Xia Zi Wei is determined to meet her father and travels from her provincial home to the Forbidden City in an effort to seek him out.

However, gaining an audience with the Emperor proves far more difficult than she expected. But Xia Zi Wei refuses to give up hope and remains in the capital – where she one day meets Xiao Yan Zi (Zhao Wei), a streetwise orphan girl.


The girls become firm friends and hatch a plan to meet the Emperor during a hunting trip.

However, their plan is thwarted when Xiao Yan Zi is injured by an arrow fired by the Emperor’s son. The Emperor finds Xiao Yan Zi, and mistakes her for his own daughter, taking her to the Imperial Court.

Will the truth out? And will Xia Zi Wei ever be able to take her rightful place in the palace?
