Mei (Iitoyo Marie) is a 24-year-old woman who left her tranquil hometown behind for the allure of the big city.
She works at a major publishing company, but one day has an incident at work and finds herself out of a job.
Mei hears of strange goings-on back home – where the cherry blossom trees have suddenly begun to blossom out of season. She decides to go back to investigate.
Visiting her hometown always fills her with sadness, as when she was just 17, her high school friend Kota (Sano Hayato) died in a sudden accident. The friends both had strong feelings for one another, but never had the courage to confess how they felt.
However, when Mei returns, she is surprised to discover that Kota has returned – although she soon learns that he may only be able to stay for as long as the cherry trees remain in bloom.
What magic has brought the two together again? And will the reunited friends finally confess their true feelings to one another?
