Despite being poor but smart, Seo Yeong's family is happy until her father, Sam Jae, is laid off from work. Everything seems to fall apart. After a failed business attempt, Sam Jae gets involved in gambling, and his relationship with Seo Yeong grows distant. Though never ranking lower than first place, Seo Yeong has no tuition money and has to give up her dream of being a doctor and prepares for the bar exam. On the other hand, Seo Yeong's twin brother, Sang Woo, enrolls in medical school and makes an effort to fix the relationship with his father. The father wants to reconcile and ask for forgiveness from his daughter Seo Yeong, but she only feels hate and betrayal. Far apart, despite being physically close, will the father and daughter ever understand each other?
