Sheng Jing Chu (Niu Jun Feng), a reserved professional Go player, sees the world in black and white until he meets Cheng Liao (Landy Li), a young trainee reporter who suddenly brings color to his life. When media mistakenly reports they are a couple, they decide to maintain the pretense. After suffering a shocking defeat that devastates his professional career, Jing Chu struggles with his future in Go while simultaneously developing a deeper connection with Cheng Liao.
