Dong Jie is a Chinese actress. Born on April 19, 1980, she made her acting debut in Zhang Yimou’s 2000 film “Happy Times.” She went on to star in the 2003 television “Story of a Noble Family,” which is still considered one of her most memorable roles. Dong Jie has starred in many popular films and television dramas since, including the recent “Secrets of the Three Kingdoms” (2018) and “Ruyi’s Royal Love in the Palace” (2018).

Yin Fang is a Chinese actor and former ballet dancer who was born on August 27, 1986, in Changsha, Hunan Province, China. He began with dreams of becoming a classical dancer but later decided to turn his back on performance and studied business-related subjects at Beijing Normal University. In 2007, he made a U-turn and eventually took up ballet again, eventually turning his hand to acting. He made his acting debut in 2013, when he appeared in the film “Blue Sky Bones.” He has since appeared in the dramas “New World” and “With You (both 2020).

She studied at Shanghai Theater Academy, and made her TV drama acting series debut in 2016, when she appeared in “Oh My General.” She made her big-screen bow in 2017, appearing in the movie “Lovers Across Space.” More recently, she has appeared in the drama series “Serenade of Peaceful Joy” (2020).

Zhao Wei is a Chinese actor who was born on July 15, 1977, in Shanghai, China. He graduated from the Shanghai Theatre Academy. He began his acting career in the late 1990s. In the late 1980s, Ding Bi Yun (Dong Jie) is a single mother struggling against poverty and trying to raise her infant son in a small town in China’s Jiangsu Province. Life is a constant struggle as she tries to make ends meet financially and attempts to keep her son on the straight and narrow path with his school and emotional growth. She falls for a man, but is then dismayed when he must travel abroad, leaving both her and her son alone. She battles on and eventually her son, Ding Xiao Jun (Yin Fang), wins admission to a big-city university.

But when Ding Xiao Jun is approached by talent scouts, he thinks he may be able to begin his career as an entertainer or model in Japan. That plan comes to naught, however, and Ding Xiao Jun is left destitute. Once again, his mother comes to the rescue, helping him return to his studies. In 2010, he has graduated and has found love in the big city. He is about to launch his career as a media professional and propose to his girlfriend when he learns that his mother has been diagnosed with a terminal illness. He feels like he has no choice but to return to his hometown to care for her in her final days…
