Emperor Xiao Jin Yun and Empress Xu Yu lead a tense marriage of convenience, divided by their starkly contrasting personalities and court duty. Xiao Jin Yun is a bookish, physically delicate scholar, while Xu Yu is a spirited, martial-arts-trained daughter of a famous general. Their uneasy dynamic takes a chaotic turn when a sudden accident at a lotus pond forces them to inexplicably swap bodies. Trapped in Xu Yu's athletic frame, the Emperor must navigate scheming concubines in the inner harem. Meanwhile, Xu Yu wrestles with state politics while enduring the Emperor's fragile health. Forced to live each other's lives, mutual hostility transforms into profound trust and romance. This animated series is adapted from the popular web comic of the same name.
