Synopsis
As an avid reader of xianxia novels, Shen Yuan is well-versed in the ways of the “immortal hero”. A true aficionado of the genre and the “Proud Immortal Demon Way” series, Shen Yuan knows exactly what path such a hero must take to fulfill his destiny. So when Shen Yuan is mysteriously transported into the world of the series, he knows exactly what he must do as the story’s new hero.
Unfortunately, Shen Yuan isn’t the story’s hero, but rather the hero’s scumbag master, Chen Qing Qiu, who is destined to suffer a humiliating defeat at the hands of his disciple, Luo Bing He. Determined to do whatever it takes to change his fate, Shen Yuan tries to find a way to change the story. The only problem is, all of his actions are monitored by The System, a monitoring program designed to keep him from derailing the story’s plot. Unable to act in any manner that falls too far outside the confines of his character, most of Shen Yuan’s attempts to befriend his disciple are blocked by The System
Despite The System’s best efforts to thwart him, Shen Yuan is determined to find ways to stay on Bing He’s good side. Will Shen Yuan succeed in his attempts to circumvent The System and step outside his predestined role as the scumbag master, or will his attempts to force his happy ending end in utter failure?
