The year is 1863, and in Kyoto, Japan, Kyujuro Fukakusa (Tomoya Oku) lives a modest life working with his father at a small teahouse. One fateful night, they grant refuge to a desperate samurai but a rival samurai soon bursts into the teahouse, killing Kyujuro’s father in the process.
