At the age of six, Lu Yun Xi (Li Mu Chen) was abandoned in a cave and left to die – until she was saved by Xiao Chu Yi (Zhou Jun Wei). From that moment, they became inseparable, and their childhood friendship eventually turned into deep love. However, Chu Yi was abruptly sent to the border on a military mission on their wedding night, but never returned, and Yun Xi received the devastating news of his death three months later. Pregnant with their child and seeing no other options, she made the heart-wrenching choice to remarry Chu Yi’s cousin, Zhou Yan Yu (Xu Hao Xiang). Six years later, Chu Yi returns unexpectedly, now a celebrated general, only to find that Yun Xi has remarried. Caught in a love triangle, Yun Xi is torn between her first husband who's "returned from the dead," and the steady love of her current husband.
