Cha Yoo Jin (Joo Won), a bright but arrogant piano student, dreams of becoming a world-renowned conductor. However, due to a traumatic incident in his youth, he has a severe phobia of traveling via plane or boat, making it impossible for him to travel to Europe and pursue further music education there. After a drunken mishap lands him on fellow pianist Seol Nae Il's (Shim Eun Kyung) doorstep, Yoo Jin is forced to adjust to Nae Il's eccentric and free-spirited ways, especially after they're forced to perform a piano duet with each other. Yoo Jin's classical approach clashes with Nae Il's unorthodox style, infuriating and fascinating him as they learn how to work together. Can Nae Il's charm help Yoo Jin let go of some of his rigid ways? This drama was adapted from the manga "Nodame Cantabile" by Tomoko Ninomiya.
