In 1980s Hong Kong, amidst triad chaos and police corruption, university student He Chu San (He Chang Xi) is forced into money laundering by a notorious gang. He crosses paths with the brutal yet charismatic enforcer Xia Liu Yi (He Yan Zhao), who later becomes the gang's leader. Despite his revulsion for the underworld, Chu San finds himself drawn to Liu Yi, and as their bond deepens, Chu San becomes a bright light in Liu Yi's life, reminding him of what things could be outside of the gang.
