A mysterious virus has swept across the world, mutating into "A" and "B" strains. Those with Virus A, like Wu Nong Yu (Fang Jin), generally don't notice many side effects, but those with Virus B may develop antisocial and violent tendencies, along with a near-unstoppable possessive urge towards Virus A carriers. When Nong Yu accompanies her police officer brother to a crime scene, she has a chance encounter with suspected murderer Xie Xin Xu (Cui Yu Xin) – who happens to be a Virus B carrier. Five years after their first meeting, Nong Yu has become a bioengineering student, and Xin Xu decides to seize his opportunity to see her again by disguising himself as a medical professor, hoping to devise a way to get Nong Yu to fall in love with him. However, Nong Yu refuses to be easily caught, leading to unexpected feelings and growth from both of them.
