Due to a childhood surgery meant to correct a violent temper, prosecutor Hwang Si Mok (Cho Seung Woo) lost his ability to empathize with others. While this makes him excellent at solving crimes through sharp logic, it ostracizes him at work due to his poor social skills and refusal to accept bribes. While investigating a serial murder case, Si Mok accidentally stumbles across signs of institutional corruption. He finds an unlikely ally in the tenacious and principled police lieutenant Han Yeo Jin (Bae Doo Na). Together, they form a formidable team, cutting through the secrets maintained by high-ranking officials and powerful conglomerates. As they peel back the layers of a sprawling conspiracy, they realize that they might have to expand their definition of who the guilty party might be – assuming that they're not taken down from the inside, first.
