In the distant past, demon-like creatures known as Oni roamed the lands, able to slaughter humans with ease, until a lone man named Momotaro fought against them. Over thousands of years, the Oni and Momotaro bloodlines intermingled with others, eventually forming the Oni Agency and Momotaro Agency, comprised of people with Oni and Momotaro ancestry – like Shiki Ichinose, who is saved from a Momotaro attack when his adoptive father Tsuyoshi sacrifices himself, revealing that he himself is also a Momotaro, while Shiki's dormant Oni ancestry comes to the surface. Shiki's Oni awakening attracts the attention of Naito Mudano, an Oni teacher at Rasetsu Academy, who decides to help Shiki develop and harness his power in the hopes of avenging his father. This anime was based on the manga of the same name by Yura Urushibara.
