Kim Soo Hyun is an internationally recognized and acclaimed Korean actor whose many talents also include singing and modeling. Born on February 16, 1988, Kim Soo Hyun has risen through the ranks of South Korean actors to become one of the highest-paid in the whole industry, garnering an unprecedented number of simultaneous endorsement deals starting in 2012. Born on December 27, 1988, as Ok Taek Yeon, he immigrated with his family when he was 10 years old to Bedford, Massachusetts. He lived in Massachusetts for 7 years and attended Bedford High School before moving to Seoul while he was still in high school to pursue a career in the arts.

Teenager Go Hye Mi (Bae Suzy) dreamed of attending Julliard and becoming a classical singer, but after her wealthy father goes bankrupt and runs away to avoid loan sharks, she’s left behind to handle his affairs. A debt collector suggests that she attend Kirin Arts High, where students train in the hopes of becoming K-pop idols, become a singer, and use the money from album sales to repay her father’s debts. Hye Mi finds the idea distasteful, but agrees when the debt collector threatens to force her younger sister into work instead. After auditioning for Kirin, Hye Mi encounters students like aspiring dancer Jin Guk (Taecyeon), Kim Pil Sook (IU), and more, who help her broaden her horizons and learn more about music and performing. Hye Mi grows closer to Jin Guk in particular, despite a rocky first encounter, changing her life forever.
