How to Buy a Friend

Don Hyuk (Shin Seung Ho) holds a reputation as one of the best high school fighters. However, new rumors swirl around Don Hyuk after his girlfriend Seo Jung’s (Cho Yi Hyun) sudden suicide, and he’s quick to lash out if someone even mentions her name. Upon Don Hyuk’s return to school, he comes across a poem written by another student, Chan Hong (Lee Shin Young), who’s talented at writing. When Don Hyuk discovers a clue about Seo Jung’s death, he approaches Chan Hong with a deal: if Chan Hong helps investigate, Don Hyuk will serve as Chan Hong’s personal “bodyguard” to protect him from school bullies. Can Don Hyuk and Chan Hong uncover the truth behind Seo Jung’s passing, and will this unconventional arrangement lead to genuine friendship between the boys? This drama was based on the web comic of the same name by Kwon Laad.
